COURT HOUSEThis charming building was a home rather than a "courthouse." It graced the southwest corner of Dogwood Street and Rainier Boulevard from 1890 to 1979. The building was constructed by a Mr. Putnam, whose wife was a member of a well-known family in the region. The house remains basically the same today as when first built. The only changes have been additions to the front porch and west side of the house. Putnam later sold the house to the Finstrom family. The third daughter, Hilda, married a Mr. Court and moved to Seattle. She returned to the family home when her husband died and remained there until her death. The house was used for the offices of a local real estate company until 1979, when construction of the firm's new building began. Renovation for Gilman Village included exposure of the original tongue and groove siding. Visit the stores in Court House
